How to interpret the ranking
The table is organized by reported total assets, a widely used measure of institutional scale. It is not a ranking of profitability, safety, customer service or investment quality.
Accounting conventions differ across jurisdictions. Treatment of derivatives and other balance-sheet items can cause reported assets to vary between otherwise comparable institutions. Users should consult audited financial statements and regulatory disclosures for decision-grade analysis.
